After playing music until all hours, eating until my stomach hurt, and enjoying the company of Ruth and Chuck in Wiarton, I roamed around their grounds and took this picture that I then did a drawing of.
I tried a different approach to this piece by eliminating tight pencilling and going straight to inking the rough drawing. I was happy with the result. However, I'm not sure that I saved time. By tight pencilling, I can let my mind wander when inking. If I skip that step, each stroke with the pen is permanent - right or wrong.
Ruth and Chuck haven't seen this yet. However, their house is in a dead spot for internet, so this might still be a surprise.
