I had to come home from the boat in order to help out my mother. (Doesn't she realize how short the summer is around here?)
So while I am back at the apartment I figured that I'd colour Brian's Vaille Que prints. There isn't enough room on the boat to work on four of these at the same time.
I've decided to do these "production line" style; one colour at a time, all four at the same time. I have a finished coloured print that I use as my colour guide but I still find myself thinking as I start the first one, "Okay, how do I do this?" Then, on number two, "Okay, how did I do that?" Number three: "Okay, I know how to do this." And ultimately on starting number four, "I have to do ths again?"

This is where I spend most of my time at the drawing board on the boat; the light is good, it's comfortable and I'm out of the wind and elements.
I still need a haircut, though.

I've finally finished tight pencilling and have started inking pages for "The Wish".
With any luck things will progress a little faster now. I wanted to take my time and do this right but I've come to realize that it's never going to look exactly the way that I'd like it to even if I take the rest of my life fine tuning it, so let's just get 'er done... and, geez... get a haircut.

Jamming in the kitchen of Ruth and Chuck's beautiful log house here on the shores of Georgian Bay. Too much fun.
