After a few rough spots, the pencilling is finished. I had some trouble with the contrast on the faces, especially Drinking Guy. With a little tenacity it began to take shape and I was able to create the shadows with teeny-weeny, itsy-bitsy lines that I can follow in ink.
Always the consummate teacher, Brian asked, “Is it just another crazy project, or was there something to learn?”
I replied, smugly, “I’m learning not to take on so many crazy projects!”
However, this portion of the piece has made my fingers itch for more. We’ll see if I still feel that way after I ink the thing.
