Set Another Spell

I am slowly filling in the intricate background behind each of the characters. I've split the porch into the four sections using the the poles as my guides. Then, I try to set-a-spell and finish each portion before taking a break.

I’ve found some interesting tid-bits as I’ve been drawing. The can of Sweet Scotch Snuff has the word Carhard written across the top. Thought of changing it to "Gerhard" but thought that would take away from the authenticity. Plus, the lettering would be so incredibly small that it would have been unnoticed anyway.

The faces and clothing brighten as the background fills. With each addition, I have to increase the contrast of the figures to keep them from blending in.

One more portion to complete and I'll scan in the finished pencilled piece then begin inking. This has me a little worried, as inking can completely change the face of a project. I'll need some Sweet Scotch, in a bottle not a can.
