J's dream hanging

J(ay) sent me a photo of his framed Gerhard Dreams hanging on his wall...

He mentioned that the lady at the framing place was very impressed. That's nice to hear. Thanks J.

catching up on colouring...

I've set the tapestry aside (literally... there it is in the corner)

and coloured up a few Pride prints and another Gerhard Dreams.

For this one I was requested to put  a Cerebus in the picture frame.

I used the Cerebus from the original Following Cerebus cover as reference.

Jay's Dream

No, I wasn't eating Mandarin Orange frozen yogurt while colouring... that's my brush rinsing jug.

This must be the fifth or sixth time I've coloured this piece. Talk about a recurring dream.

This shot nicely features Jay's little characters in the frames on the walls.

This is my "sit-and-stare-have-a-beer-and-decide-if-I'm-done" phase.

After a few of these phases, I decide that I'm done.

This may be the fifth or sixth one I've coloured but no two are exactly the same. They're kinda like snowflakes that way.

Gerz Dream for J(ay)

J(ay) has been a long time Cerebus fan and cyber-acquaintance. He sent me some awesome chocolate once (he lives in Switzerland). He draws a little scarecrow figure that he’s admitted he’s “never done much with." You can see his “Devolution of an unnamed character” here:

His idea for his commissioned Ger's Dream piece was to have one drawing for the "sleeping" side of the room and another for the "dreaming" side. These are the drawings he sent me.

Since he supplied the perfect drawings of his character, I just pasted them into the picture frames, after adjusting for perspective. The bigger scarecrow is holding onto the picture frame. Great idea!

You can see them in this close cropped version.

The smaller, "sleeping" one is hardly noticable beside the wood stove but he'll know it's there.

Now it’s time to get it printed out on the 100lb paper and colour it.
"Quit blogging, Ger and get started!"

Marg's Dreams

These are the commissions I did for Margaret a.k.a. CerebusFanGirl - check out her site!

This image shows the picture of Marg on her bike that I inserted into the Ger's Dream piece.

... this is how it progessed

... then

... and then

... and finally

She requested the coloured "Pride" prints as well. Proceeds from these two go to Pride Stables!
Thanks Margaret!
