hulk and wolverine colouring

Okay... here's how the actual colouring turned out:

...and here's a fun little movie that compresses about 5 hours of work into just under two minutes:

...and here's me in front of the computer editing the movie of me having just finished colouring at the drawing board behind me.

Hulk vs Wolverine

Now that the tapestry is out of the way, it's time to finish a couple things.

First off... I inked the Hulk & Wolvy piece pretty much as it was pencilled:

...with the addition of some mountains...

...and then I did a quick coulor mock up on the compter:

I'll be using this as my colouring guide when I hand colour the original.
Can you believe he wore purple pants?

The finished piece never looks quite like the colour guide, but you gotta start somewhere.

Stay tuned.

Hulk vs Wolverine for Charles

I was requested to put a background behind this Trimpe drawing.

As far as I understand, it depicts a confrontation that occured between these two characters in "The Incredible Hulk" issue 181. Since this is supposed to take place in the wilds of Quebec (I think), I thought it would be fun to have an actual wolverine in the picture. Then my Canadiana went hog-wild and I started pencilling in a moose and beaver and Canada goose and maple leaves...

I stopped short of putting in an empty Molson Canadian beer can and Tim Horton's coffee cup.

That's the nice thing about the pencilling stage. You can put everything in and decide what to take out later.
